VIDEO Lovely As A Tree with DSP stack

Hello Everyone

I saw a version of this card with cardstock at Stampin' Up! Convention last year. If you designed it, let me know and I will give you a shout out here.

I changed it up by using Trim the Tree, Designer Series Paper instead of cardstock and buttons coloured using Blendabilites.

Enjoy the video :)

Blendabilitiies and Lanterns

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing one of the projects my lovely ladies did on our Blendabilites masterclass last month.   It was great to see them in all the different colours we chose.

As you can see - I went for Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight. We were focussing on light sources and practicing getting a nice rounded look on the images.

The stamp set these lanterns come from is called Today and Everyday. You can find it in the big catalogue and it is particularly designed to work with the Blendabilities markers. I love the effect.

And the colouring didn't stop with the lanterns, both the cotton ribbon and Vintage Faceted button were coloured using the Blendies. It means you can turn a white ribbon and a clear button into any colour you want to match your project - that is very Stampin' Up! isn't it?!

On this picture it is hard to see, but we used the Large Polka Dot embossing folder and the new Spiral Border Punch to add some more interest to this pretty card.

My lovely class ladies did a great job with it - I won't mention all 21 of you by name - but you know who you are! :)

Colourful Bauble

Hello Everyone

Now if you don't like Christmas in September - bear with me - I will be back with a non-Christmas video on Tuesday - but today I am feeling festive and fabulous with this colourful project.

The stamp is a single stamp called, Christmas Bauble - and yes the clue is in the name. I have had fun colouring, embossing and decorating this bauble using blendabilites, markers, watercolours and embossing powders - and it looks different every time.

I am starting though with my favourite of all - totally non-traditional in colour - but we had old glass baubles in pinks and lilacs when I was little and these colours make me smile.

I coloured the bauble with Blendabilites, often using the smaller bullet end for the detail. If you are doing this, my tip is to aim to leave half the holly berries white then what you end up with are the tiny moons of white you see below! :)

I layered Melon Mambo, Whisper White and Wisteria Wonder card strips on to the Old Olive card and stamped a greeting from White Christmas, colouring the banners with Blendabilites also.

I hope you like this version - I have more, coming up in later posts. So tell me - do you prefer modern or traditional colouring for your Christmas projects?

Ornamental Pine in Silver

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing a card made with my favourite traditional stamp set in the new Autumn/Winter catalogue from Stampin' Up!

It is called Ornamental Pine and is features the pine bough and either a fir cone or Christmas bauble to hang from it. It works as a non-festive one with the pine cone, but today I am all out Christmas with a heat embossed bauble.

I stamped and silver embossed the fir and the bauble on Elegant Eggplant cardstock first, then did the bauble again and punched out with the 1 3/8" circle punch and popped it up on dimensionals.

The card base is in Blackberry Bliss, a combination that is striking I think, and you can see I stamped the fir cone image both on the base card and inside on the panel.

The inner and outer greetings both come from the Ornamental Pine stamp set.

I hope you like today's card. I have more projects using this stamp set coming up soon.

VIDEO Masked Snow Technique Card

Hello Everyone

Today's video features two fun effects using masking to create a snow scene. I am using the sweet stamp set called White Christmas - plus scroll down for a bonus project using the same technique.

If you saw Tuesday's post using the Holiday Home stamp set, you will see right away that both these sets work really well together and because they are both photopolymer they are each priced at just £13.95 - so you may want to splurge and have them both!  (If you are tempted, you can see them in my online store here).

OK - so on with the video…

Did you like that effect with the polar bear? Are you going to give it a go? I hope so :)

Here is another project made using this technique and the same stamp set featured on the Tiny Treat Boxes from the Autumn/Winter Stampin' Up! catalogue.

Holiday Home Treat Bag

Hello Everyone

Well I promised you something from the Autumn/Winter catalogue from Stampin' Up! today. This is not a Christmas project, but the stamp set, Holiday Home, has Christmas, Autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving and New Home elements - so it is suitable for lots of occasions.

I used the wonderful Petite Cafe Gift Bags from Stampin' Up! These are not that petite; you get 10 bags for £5.50 and they are 8" X 3 1/4" X 2 1/2". They can be sealed and re-sealed with a fold over metal lined paper closure, and the bags are lined with a wax type food-safe paper, so are perfect for sticky treats.

I made a welcome to your new home bag, with an autumn theme. (BTW I decorated both sides to show  the versatility of the stamp set - it is Christmas on the front, I will share that here soon - but you are looking at the back of the closure here…)

The middle house is coloured using Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler blendabilites and is cut out using the matching framelits. (There is a 15% saving if you buy the framelits and stamps together). Check them out on my online store here.

I finished the project with a knotted piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon.

Back on Tuesday with a fun video…see you then.
